Welcome to The Red Tent.
For millions of years, women have been attending women in childbirth. Midwives, sisters, aunts and even friends would sit with a mother through her labor, ensuring she had the loving touch and care she needed to deliver her baby with ease.
Modern day life doesn’t allow for these close female connections that we had in the past.
Enter the modern doula.
As a doula, my job is to support you during your labor to help you have the type of birth you are hoping to have. My job is to provide information in those times when labor or birth doesn’t take the path you’d thought it would. My life’s work is helping women feel attended to and cared for during their labor and birth experience. My role is non-medical in nature; I offer information and support.
